Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your motorola razr to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed

Press and hold the

Power button

until the device begins to power on. Select your language then tap

Start

Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap

To set up your phone using an old phone, select

Android device

iPhone or iPad

. Otherwise, tap

Skip

Connect to a Wi-Fi network.

Turn privacy and security features on or off then tap

Accept & continue

Select the user type.

Set up a screen lock and face or fingerprint recognition to secure your device.

To copy apps and data, tap

to transfer your content or tap

Do it later

Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services option (e.g., Gemini, Location, etc.).

To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and App info, tap

Tap

Agree

to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Verizon Protect.

Add your email to allow Motorola to communicate with you.

Turn Smart lock screen on or off then tap

Go to my home screen

to complete activation.
