Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe mode is a diagnostic state on your TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G that only runs system apps, so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the TCL logo appears then release.
  2. Approximately 2-3 seconds after the 'TCL' logo appears onscreen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until Safe mode appears in the lower left of the screen then release.
  5. To exit Safe Mode restart the device.
