Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe mode is a diagnostic state on your TCL TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the TCL logo appears then release.
  2. Approximately 2-3 seconds after the TCL logo appears on the screen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
    If pressed too soon, the device won't boot into Safe Mode.
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the screen then release.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
