Restart in Safe Mode

Safe mode is a diagnostic state on your Galaxy Z Fold3 5G that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the
    Side button
     and
    Volume down button
     until the Power off prompt appears onscreen then release.
  2. Touch and hold
    Power off
     until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release.
  3. To confirm, tap the
    Safe mode icon
     then wait for the phone to reboot and 'Safe mode' to appear in the lower left of the unlock or Home screen.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
