Sonim XP8 - View / Extend Battery Life

Here's how to extend battery life, view charging status / remaining battery and determine what uses the most power on your Sonim XP8®.

View Battery Life

Open the

Settings app

Tap

Battery

Battery life is measured by standby time, talk time and data usage.

Review the current battery status.

indicates the remaining battery life, charging status.

Charging status only shows if the device is connected to a charger.

Charging over USB
: Charging at a lower rate.

Charging on AC
: Charging at standard rate, preferred method.

Navigate:

Battery usage

to view the history.

To improve battery life, you can:

Disable or uninstall apps (e.g., live wallpapers, etc.) that are consuming too much battery or RAM or aren't being used.

Contact the app developer if an app appears to cause excessive battery drain.

Adjust brightness to the lowest setting.

Turn GPS off when not in use.

If turned off, certain apps or services may not work properly.

Ensure battery optimizations aren't ignored; make sure accounts (e.g., email, Facebook®, etc.) are selected and optimized as desired.

Remove widgets that automatically update.
