Sonim XP8 - Customize Your Home Screen

Personalizing the Home screen on your Sonim XP8 makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove, or arrange apps, use widgets, or set a wallpaper that matches your style.

Add Apps

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto the desired Home screen.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be enough space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
    .
  3. Touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag-and-drop the widget onto the preferred Home screen.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be enough space within the selected Home screen. If needed, more Home screen panels may be added.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.
    Options vary depending on the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a shortcut (e.g., Email Messages, etc.).
  2. Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto another shortcut (e.g., Gmail, Photos, etc.).
    When the folder containing the shortcuts is created it's titled 'Unnamed Folder'.
    • To rename a folder:
      1. From a Home screen, tap a folder.
      2. Tap the
        Title bar
         at the top of the unnamed folder.
      3. Enter a name then tap the
        Checkmark icon
        .
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widgets, shortcuts, folders, etc.).
  2. Drag-and-drop the item onto 'Remove' at the top of the screen.

Set Wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Wallpapers
    .
  3. Tap a desired wallpaper then tap
    Set wallpaper
    .
    Scroll left or right to see more options.
  4. Select an option:
    • Home screen
    • Home screen and Lock screen
