Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ - Restart in Safe Mode

Restarting your Galaxy S8 / S8+ in Safe Mode puts it into a diagnostic state that only runs system apps so you can determine if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.
  1. With the device powered on, press and hold the
    Power button
     on the right edge of the device until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release.
    An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.
  2. Touch and hold
    Power off
     until the 'Reboot to Safe Mode' prompt appears then release.
  3. Tap
    Safe Mode
    .
    The restart process may take up to 45 seconds to complete.
    Upon restart, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen.
  4. With Safe Mode enabled, test device and app functionality.
