Initial Setup for LG

Need to update your LG device? Learn how to install the Upgrade Assistant on your PC or Mac to easily manage your software updates.

Before you begin

Ensure the following system requirements are met before installation of the Software Upgrade Assistant (SAU):
  • Windows® 7 and later or Mac OS 10.6 and later versions.
  • Up to 5GB of available computer storage (to store the Update File), USB cable and Internet connection.
The most recent software version becomes available on the SUA/SRA tool within a week of a new software update. During this time, the SUA/SRA is unavailable for usage.
If the update fails to install refer to the Software Repair Assistant for further assistance.

Windows

  1. Ensure your device is powered on then connect it to a compatible computer using the supplied USB cable.
    If the device is not recognized immediately, pull down the notification panel to switch the device mode from 'Charge Only' to 'MTP', 'File Transfer' or 'Software Installation' mode.
  2. If presented, click
    Run VZW_Software_upgrade_assistant.exe
    .
    If the AutoPlay pop up window is not available, open Windows Explorer (press
    Windows+E keys
    ) then click
    CD Drive: Verizon Mobile
    .
  3. On the Welcome screen, click
    Next
     to continue.
  4. To continue, review the License Agreement, select
    I accept the agreement
     then click
    Next
    .
  5. Click
    Install
     then click
    Finish
    .

Macintosh

  1. Ensure your device is powered on then connect it to a compatible computer using the supplied USB cable.
    If the device is not recognized immediately, pull down the notification panel to switch the device mode from 'Charge Only' to 'MTP', 'File Transfer' or 'Software Installation' mode.
  2. Open the
    Finder
    .
  3. From the Macintosh desktop, navigate
    Finder
    Preferences
    .
  4. From the General tab, ensure the following items are selected:
    • Hard disks
    • External disks
    • CDs, DVDs, and iPods
  5. Click the
    VZWSoftwareUpgradeAssistant_Install icon
     on the desktop.
  6. Double-click the
    install.pkg icon
    .
  7. If prompted to check for compatibility click
    Continue
    .
  8. From the Software License Agreement screen click
    Continue
    .
  9. To continue installation, click
    Agree
     to the terms of the software license agreement.
  10. From the installation location screen, click
    Install
    .
  11. Click
    Continue Installation
    .
  12. When the installation process has completed click
    Restart
    .
  13. Click the
    Software Upgrade Assistant tray icon
    .
  14. Click
    Launch Assistant
    .
