Use FaceTime

Learning to use FaceTime® lets you easily connect with friends and family via video or audio calls. It's a convenient way to stay in touch directly from your Apple® iPad®.

Before you begin

The FaceTime app must be turned on in order to place or accept a Facetime call on your iPad.

Place a FaceTime Call

Open the

FaceTime app

Tap

New

then do one of the following:

Enter the name, email address or number then tap

To access contacts, tap the

Plus icon

then select the desired contact.

Select the FaceTime call option:

To place an audio call, tap the

Phone Icon

To place a video call, tap

FaceTime

To end the video or audio Facetime session, tap the

X icon

Accept a Request

When receiving a FaceTime request, perform one of the following actions:

When the iPad is locked, tap the

Phone icon

then slide to answer.

When the iPad is unlocked, tap

Join

or the

Video icon

To end the Facetime session, tap the

X icon
