Set Up Standalone WatchAdding a user with a standalone watch to Verizon Family lets you access the same location and safety features typically used for someone with a smartphone.
Before you begin
Verizon Family allows you to add the following family members:
- Adult: Help manage a member's location and activate services such as 24/7 Assist and fall detection.
- Child: View a child's location.
Add an Adult
- Open theVerizon Family app.
- TapProfilesthen tapAdd.
- TapAdd Adult.
- Tap the standalone watch from the list of available devices.
- Enter the user's Name then tapContinue.
- From the profile setup screen, review the info then tapContinue.To complete the profile setup, the family member must be present for you to pass your phone to them. Otherwise, clickNot now.
- TapGet started.
- Review the info about downloading the Verizon Family smartwatch app then tapContinue.
- From the smartwatch, tap the text notification to download Verizon Family from the app store.
- Once downloaded, open the app the begin pairing.
- Enter the pairing code on the standalone watch into the mobile app then tapConfirm.
- From the Code accepted screen on the mobile device, tapContinue.
- To enroll your family member in 24/7 Assist, tapContinue.
- Review the info about 24/7 Assist then tapAgree.
- Complete the registration (e.g., Contact info, address, etc.) then tapConfirm.
- Enter an emergency contact then tapSave
- TapConfirmto complete the set up.
- Turn on location sharing on your smartwatch.
Add a Child
- Open theVerizon Family app.
- TapProfilesthen tapAdd.
- TapAdd Child.
- Enter the user's Name and Date of birth then tapContinue.
- Tap the standalone watch from the list of available devices.
- From the profile setup screen, review the info then tapContinue.
- Review the Consent and tapAgree.
- Review the info about downloading the Verizon Family smartwatch app then tapContinue.
- From the smartwatch, view the text notification to download the Verizon Family Companion app from the app store.
- Once downloaded, open the app the begin pairing.
- Enter the pairing code then tapConfirm.
- Turn on location sharing on your smartwatch.
