With automatic backups, app settings and personal data on your Galaxy S26 / S26+ / S26 Ultra are saved to your Google™ account, making it easy to restore everything after a reset.

Before you begin

When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active phone or by signing in to the same Google™ account while setting up your new or reset phone.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Accounts and backup
    Back up data
    .
  3. Tap
    Photos & videos
    .
  4. Tap the
    Backup switch
     to turn on.
    If turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
  5. Tap the
    Back arrow
    .
  6. Tap
    Other device data
    .
  7. Tap the existing backup account then select the preferred Google account or tap
    Add account
    .
