A screen lock keeps your moto g - 2026 safe and private. If you've set one up, follow these simple instructions to unlock your device and make it ready for use.

Before you begin

Alternate methods include double-tapping the screen if no screen lock is present.

Steps

  1. Press the
    Power button
     on the right edge of the device.
  2. Depending on the screen lock type, do one of the following:
    • Swipe the screen up or down.
    • Draw the current unlock pattern.
    • Enter the current PIN or password then tap
      OK
       or
      Done
      .
    • Touch the fingerprint sensor located toward the bottom of the screen.
      1. If the fingerprint isn't recognized, swipe up from the bottom of the display.
      2. Enter the PIN, pattern or password.
    • Using the front-facing camera, position your face within the provided area.
      1. If the face isn't recognized, swipe up from the bottom of the display.
      2. Enter the PIN, pattern or password.
