Activate your moto g - 2026 to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

Ensure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device begins to power on. Select your language then tap
    Start

  2. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap

  3. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  4. Turn privacy and security features on or off then tap
    Accept & continue

  5. Select who will be using the device an then tap
    Next
    .
  6. Sign in with your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Enter a PIN code then tap
    Next
     or tap
    Screen lock options
     to set up a screen lock, fingerprint recognition or face recognition.
  8. To copy apps and data screen, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content or tap
    Do it later

  9. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services options (e.g., Gemini, Location, etc.).
  10. From the Continue setup screen, tap

     or tap
    Leave & get reminder
     to finish setup later.
  11. Follow the onscreen prompts for share location with nearby contacts, set up Gemini and Hey Google.
  12. Tap
    Agree
     or
    Next
     to add more storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Verizon Protect.
  13. Set your Motorola preferences then tap
    Next

  14. From the Smart lock screen, tap the switch to turn on or off then tap
