Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

A screen lock secures your motorola edge and keeps it private. Setting it up or adjusting the options helps you find the right balance between security and accessibility.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    Screen lock
    .
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To set up a pattern:
      1. Tap
        Pattern
        .
      2. Draw an unlock pattern that connects at least 4 dots then tap
        Next
        .
      3. Draw the same pattern again then tap
        Confirm
        .
      4. Configure notification options as preferred then tap
        Done
        .
    • To set up a PIN:
      1. Tap
        PIN
        .
      2. If presented with the PIN policy screen, tap
        OK
        .
      3. Enter a numeric PIN that's 4 to 16 digits then tap
        Next
        .
      4. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
        Confirm
        .
      5. Configure notification options as preferred then tap
        Done
        .
    • To set up a password:
      1. Tap
        Password
        .
      2. If presented with the Password policy screen, tap
        OK
        .
      3. Enter a password that's 4 to 16 characters then tap
        Next
        .
      4. Re-enter the password then tap
        Confirm
        .
      5. Configure notification options as preferred then tap
        Done
        .
    • To disable a screen lock:
      1. Tap
        None
         or
        Swipe
        .
      2. Tap
        Delete
        .
