Manage RTT Settings

Use RTT to text in real time on calls from your TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G. This can help with hearing or speech issues or if you prefer typing.

Before you begin

Real-time text (RTT) is text transmitted instantly as it is typed or created. Recipients can immediately read the message while it is being written without waiting or the need for an additional device.

Change RTT Visibility

  1. Open the
    Phone app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    3-dot Menu icon
    Settings
    Accessibility
    .
  3. Tap
    Real Time Text Visibility
    .
  4. Tap
    RTT Visibility
     then select from one of the following options:
    • When Placing Calls
    • Only During Calls

Make a Call with RTT

  1. If When Placing Calls was selected under the RTT visibility setting, open the
    Phone app
     then make a phone call.

Switch a Call to RTT

  1. If Only During Calls was selected under the RTT visibility setting, while on a call, tap
    Real Time Text
    .

End an RTT Call

  1. While on a call, tap the
    End icon
     to end the call.
