Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your moto g power - 2025 for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Device lock
    Face & Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Unlock with your fingerprint screen, tap
        Setup
        .
      2. Place your finger on the
        sensor
         (on the Power button) until it vibrates then lift it and repeat this step until the process is complete.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • To add more fingerprint(s):
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Place your finger on the
        sensor
         (on the Power button) until it vibrates then lift.
      3. Tap
        Done
         when finished.
        To continue adding fingerprints, tap
        Add another
         then repeat the previous steps above.
    • To delete fingerprint(s):
      1. Tap the
        Delete icon
         to the right of the fingerprint you want to remove, then tap
        Delete
        .
      2. If presented with Remove all fingerprints?, tap
        Yes, remove
         if desired.
