Moving files to an SD card frees up storage space and helps your moto g power - 2025 run more efficiently.

Before you begin

To perform the steps below, an SD / memory card must be inserted.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app

  2. Navigate:
    Storage
    This device
    .
  3. Select a category (e.g., Images, Audio, etc.).
  4. If applicable, select the directory/folder that contains the file(s).
  5. Tap and hold the file to select it.
  6. Tap the
    3-dot Menu icon
    .
  7. Tap
    Move to
    .
  8. Tap
    SD card
    .
  9. Tap the appropriate
    SD Card folder
    .
  10. If necessary, navigate to the appropriate directory to move the files to or create a new folder.
  11. Tap
    Move here
    .
