Formatting an SD card erases all files and readies it for use with your moto g stylus 5G. This helps with troubleshooting or starting fresh with clean storage.

Before you begin

Ensure your moto g stylus 5G isn't connected to a computer via a USB cable an SD / memory card is inserted.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Storage
    .
  3. From the Portable storage section, select the name of the SD / memory card.
  4. Tap the
    3-dot Menu icon
     in the upper right.
  5. Tap
    Storage settings
    .
  6. Tap
    Format
    .
  7. Review the disclaimer, tap
    Format SD Card
     then allow several seconds for the process to complete.
