Change Default Apps

Gain more control over your Apple® iPhone® by adjusting default apps so you always use the applications you prefer for specific tasks.

Before you begin

The steps below only apply to iPhone running iOS 18.2 or newer.
If you experience issues after changing the default app to a 3rd party app, it's recommended to switch it back to the default app.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Apps
    .
  3. Tap
    Default Apps
     then tap the preferred feature (e.g., Messaging, Calling, etc.).
    If unavailable, tap the preferred feature (e.g., Messaging, Calling, etc.) then tap
    Default App
    .
  4. Tap the preferred default app.
