Switching to a new device, traveling, or troubleshooting a connectivity issue? Learn how to quickly and easily insert or remove the SIM card for your Google Pixel 9 / 9 Pro / 9 Pro XL.

Before you begin

Don't try to insert the SIM card while the device is powered on. Doing so may harm the SIM card and / or the device.

Steps

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. From the bottom-right edge of the device with the display facing up, insert the SIM removal tool into the hole to remove the card tray then push in until the tray ejects.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • To insert SIM card, use the notch in the card as a guide then insert the SIM card into the tray with the gold contacts facing up.
    • To remove SIM card, remove the tray then lift the card from the tray.
