Configure S Pen Settings

The S Pen™ offers useful features (e.g., Air Command, Quick Notes, etc.), which you can customize to make navigating your Galaxy S23 Ultra and taking notes more convenient.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Advanced features
    S Pen
    .
  3. Tap any of the following to configure preferred options or tap any of the switches to turn on or off:
    • Air actions
      1. Tap the switch to turn on or off.
      2. From the Anywhere actions section, tap
        Press and hold Pen button
         then select the preferred app.
      3. Tap each gesture button then select the preferred function or app.
      4. From the App actions section, select each app (e.g., Camera, Samsung Notes, etc.) then configure the gesture actions as preferred.
      5. From the General app actions section, configure Camera and Media as preferred.
      6. Tap the
        Back Arrow
         at the top to return to the previous screen.
    • Air command
      1. From the Menu style section, tap
        Standard
         or
        Compact
        .
      2. Tap
        Shortcuts
        .
      3. To add an app shortcut to the side bar, touch and hold the app then drag it to the desired space on the side bar.
      4. To remove an app from the side bar, tap the
        Remove icon
        .
      5. Tap the
        Back Arrow
         to return to the previous screen.
      6. Tap
        Show Air command icon
         to turn on or off.
      7. Tap
        Open Air command with Pen button
         to turn on or off.
      8. Tap the
        Back Arrow
         to return to the previous screen.
    • Air view
      1. Tap the switch to turn on or off.
      2. Select the preferred option:
        • Previews and pointer
        • Pointer only
        • Previews only
      3. Tap the
        Back Arrow
         to return to the previous screen.
    • S Pen to text
      1. Tap the switch to turn on or off.
      2. When S Pen to text is on, tap
        Show writing toolbar
         to turn on or off.
      3. Review the info or tap
        How to edit
         for info on how to use the feature.
      4. Tap the
        Back arrow icon
         to return to the previous screen.
