Customize Your Home Screen

Personalizing the Home screen on your Pixel 7a makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove, or arrange apps, use widgets, or set a wallpaper that matches your style.

Add Apps

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the middle to display all apps.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag and drop the shortcut to the preferred Home screen.

Add Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
    .
  3. Select a category then touch and hold a widget
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g., Calendar).
  2. Drag the app onto another app (e.g., Gmail) then release it to create the folder.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To rename a folder:
      1. Tap the folder.
      2. Tap the
        Title bar
        .
      3. Enter a name then tap the
        Checkmark icon
        .
    • To remove a folder:
      1. Drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, app, etc.).
  2. Drag the item to Remove at the top then release.

Set Wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Wallpaper & style
    .
  3. Tap
    More wallpapers
     then select the desired wallpaper category from the available folders (e.g., My Contours, Landscapes, etc.).
  4. Select an image then tap
    Next
    .
  5. Choose to apply the wallpaper to the Lock screen, Home screen or both then tap
    Apply
    .
