Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your TCL 40 XE 5G to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

Ensure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device prior to powering on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the TCL logo appears then release. Select your language then tap
    Get Started
    .
  2. From the Terms and Conditions screen, review then tap
    Accept and continue
    .
  3. Confirm the correct number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  5. To copy apps & data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content or tap
    Don't copy
    .
  6. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  7. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept Google Services.
  8. Set up a screen lock and face recognition or fingerprints to secure your device.
  9. To allow Verizon Services to collect Location and Apps info, tap
    Accept
    .
  10. Tap
    Accept
     to add addtional storage with Verizon Cloud or secure your device with Verizon Protect.
  11. Tap
    Got it!
     to exit the device set up.
