Install / Set Up 5G Home - Outdoor Wall Mount

Mounting your Verizon Receiver (LV65) properly ensures maximum 5G signal strength and protects your equipment from weather damage.

Before you begin

Mounting for the 5G Internet Gateway is performed within the My Verizon app for Google™ Android™ and Apple® iOS.
Verizon is not responsible for damage to property caused by the installation process.
If you are uncomfortable with any part of this setup process, contact us.
While outdoor self-setup is possible for customers with advanced home maintenance skills, we recommend most customers schedule an appointment for professional outdoor setup.
Outdoor self-setup is an advanced installation and should only be attempted by customers who are experienced in mounting to the exterior of their homes. Failure to properly mount the Receiver may result in damage to the equipment or your home.

Steps

  1. Make sure to complete pairing and test for outdoor signal prior to mounting the Verizon Receiver (LV65).
  2. Review the recommendation then tap one of the following:
    • Continue outdoors
    • Schedule pro setup
  3. From the 'Are you sure you want to continue outdoors?' screen tap one of the following:
    • Schedule pro setup
    • Continue
  4. Confirm the following then tap

    :
    • You’ve tested the Receiver to confirm it gets a good 5G signal in this precise location.
    • There’s an indoor power outlet nearby that’s not near a water source. (If needed, use the extra Ethernet cable to reach.) Never use an outdoor outlet.
    • You’re able to route the cable with some slack through a window that will still fully close.
    • You’re mounting the Receiver vertically and below the roofline/eave.
    • You have the following tools on-hand:
      • Power drill and 1/4” drill bit
      • Screwdriver
      • Hammer
      • Exterior sealant
  5. Open the outdoor mounting box and remove the outdoor bracket, outdoor screws, anchors, bracket shims, and siding wedges. Tap

  6. Position the outdoor bracket against the wall just above the sticker and make sure the arrow is pointing up. Tap

  7. If your wall has siding, place one or both siding wedges behind the bracket then tap

  8. Mark the wall through the bracket slots that have screw icons then tap

  9. Use a 1/4-inch drill bit to drill a hole about 2 inches deep then tap

    Wear protection for your eyes, hands and face. Avoid drilling into electrical wires, gas lines, and water pipes, which can lead to injury or property damage.

  10. Insert the anchors into the holes gently tapping them in with a hammer then cover with exterior sealant. Tap

  11. Align the bracket to the holes in the wall. Position the screws through the bracket and siding wedges, if applicable, then drive the screws into the anchors. Don’t over tighten. Tap

  12. Remove the Receiver’s cover. Use the open notch by the cable to push the Receiver until the cover unlocks then tap

  13. Attach the Receiver to the bracket. Hold the Receiver so the words 'Verizon Receiver' are facing you. Align the slots on the Receiver to the bracket clips and click the Receiver into place then tap

  14. Insert the bracket shims into the slots on the sides of the Receiver. The bracket shims should easily fit into place. Tap

  15. Place the cover back on the Receiver. Lightly push the cover upward to engage the cover lock then tap

  16. Check the following then tap
    Confirm
    .
    • The Receiver is mounted vertically and below the roofline/eave.
    • It's securely attached to the bracket.
    • It's displaying a solid white light.
  17. Confirm 5G signal and internet are enabled then tap
    Continue
     to finish the setup.
    This may take up to 2 minutes.
    If prompted, sign in to My Verizon.

  18. Ensure you route and manage cables properly.
