Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Set up fingerprint recognition on your moto g stylus 5G for fast, secure access. Remove saved fingerprints when troubleshooting or changing devices.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Fingerprint
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern then do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Unlock with your fingerprint screen, tap
        Set up
        .
      2. Place your finger on the
        Fingerprint sensor
         on the back of the phone until it vibrates then lift it and repeat until the process completes.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • To add more fingerprints:
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. Place your finger on the
        Fingerprint sensor
         until it vibrates then lift it and repeat until the process completes.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
    • To remove fingerprint(s):
      1. Tap the
        Trash icon
         to the right of the fingerprint you want to remove then tap
        Delete
        .
      2. If presented with Remove all fingerprints, tap
        Yes, remove
         if desired.
