Manage Hotspot Settings

Turn on the hotspot feature for your moto g stylus 5G to share mobile data with other devices. Set up the network name, password and security type to enhance security.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & Internet
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name
    • Hide my device
    • Security (e.g., WPA2 PSK, None, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        OK
        .
  4. Tap the
    Extend compatibility switch
     to turn the use of the 2.4 GHz hotspot on or off.
  5. Tap
    Manage devices
     to restrict which devices are allowed to connect.
  6. Tap
    Manage allowed devices
    .
  7. To add, tap
    Add allowed device
     enter the MAC address and device name then tap
    OK
    .
  8. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to enable or disable.
  9. Tap
    Device limit
     then choose an option (e.g., 2 Devices, 10 Devices, etc.).
  10. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select a preferred option (e.g., Never turn off, 5 mins, etc.).
