Software updates improve performance, fix bugs and enhance security. Installing them helps keep your moto g stylus 5G safe and running efficiently.

Before you begin

If the device gets stuck in the boot-up process after installing an update, a factory data reset is needed. Make sure the Google™ credentials are known before doing the reset as they are needed to complete the reset process.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app

  2. Tap
    System updates
    .
  3. From the System update screen, tap
    Check for new system update
    .
  4. Review the following:
    • If an update is available, tap
      Download
      .
    • If prompted with 'Everything looks good', no update is necessary.
