Add a Virtual Private Network

Using your VPN provider or IT admin's credentials, add a VPN to your moto g stylus 5G to encrypt traffic and protect your identity on public Wi-Fi.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    VPN
    .
  3. Tap the
    Add icon
    .
  4. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap
    Set Lock
    .
  5. From the Name field, enter the applicable name.
    If needed, contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  6. From the Type field, if another encryption type is preferred than the default one that's checked, tap the
    Dropdown arrow icon
     then select the VPN type.
  7. If applicable, tap
    Show advanced options
     to configure the following options, which may vary depending on the selected VPN type:
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • Username
    • Password
  8. Enter the needed info into the applicable fields then tap
    Save
