Turn the Find My App On / OffTurning the Find My app on or off gives you control over your location tracking. This is useful for security, privacy or if you ever need to locate your Apple Watch® if it's lost.
Before you begin
If you're unable to access the watch or Apple® iPhone® or it is unresponsive, the Find My app can be disabled online via iCloud®.
To disable the Find My app, your iPhone must have a valid connection to either a cellular or Wi-Fi network. Without a connection, the Find My app is disabled on the device but not from Apple's servers.
Steps
- Do one of the following:
- To turn on Find My Watch:
- Pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone via Number Share Set Up for Myself or Standalone Mode (Apple Watch For Your Kids).
- Turn Find My iPhone on from your iPhone.This automatically enables the Find My Watch setting on your Apple Watch.
- To turn off Find My Watch:
- Unpair the Apple Watch from the iPhone or disable the Find My iPhone setting on the iPhone.Unpairing the Apple Watch from your iPhone also removes the Activation Lock on the watch.
