Adjust Router Quality of Service (QoS) Settings
Here's how to adjust Router Quality of Service settings.
- A router's Quality of Service (QoS) settings can be adjusted in an effort to improve Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) quality.
- Refer to the Internet Service Provider (ISP), Network Administrator, or equipment manufacturer for assistance with these settings.
- Examples of router setup are provided here; however, Verizon Wireless doesn't support 3rd party routers.
- QoS
- The router's ability to assign priority to specific users, apps or data flows in order to provide an optimal level of performance.
Typically, a router has the following types of QoS options:
- MAC address-based
- Prioritizes by device.
- Application-based
- Prioritizes by application.
- Port-based
- Prioritizes by port.
