If you use two phone numbers for messaging on your Samsung device, changing the default helps ensure messages always originate from your preferred line.

Before you begin

You can send SMS / MMS messages using either mobile number. To switch numbers before sending a message, follow these instructions.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Messages app

  2. From the Inbox, tap the
    New message icon
    .
  3. From the To field, enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name.
  4. Tap the
    Change SIM button
     to choose the SIM from which messages will be sent in this conversation.
    The SIM button only appears when starting a new conversation. To switch SIMs later, a new conversation must be created.
  5. Enter the desired message then tap the
    Send icon
     when ready to send.
