Download and Activate an eSIM

With an eSIM, your phone number and plan are installed digitally onto your Samsung device instead of using a physical SIM card. Downloading an eSIM profile is the first step in getting connected to the Verizon network.

Before you begin

To check if your device is eSIM (embedded SIM) capable, navigate:
Settings
About (phone or tablet)
 then view 'IMEI (eSIM)'.
Make sure you are using a Verizon-branded or unlocked device. Non-Verizon (BYOD) Prepaid devices don’t support eSIM activation
Ensure your device is running the most current software and that you’re connected to the Verizon network or Wi-Fi.
If traveling abroad, activate your eSIM before your trip, as it requires the Verizon coverage to complete setup.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    SIM manager
    Add eSIM
    .
  3. If prompted for a QR code, scan the image below using your device's camera.

  4. If prompted, tap
    Search for eSIMs
    .
  5. When 'Add VZW eSIM?' displays, tap
    Add
     and allow several minutes to add your plan.
    If 'No plans found' appears, tap
    Try again
    .
  6. When the Phone activation message appears, tap
    OK
    .
Remove eSIM Profile
Enable / Disable eSIM Profile
