MOTOROLA EDGE 5G UW - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, hotspot name, timeout settings, etc.) on your motorola edge 5G UW.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap the
    Use W-Fi hotspot switch
     to turn on.
  4. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Hotspot name (SSID)
    • Hide my device
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA2-Personal, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        OK
        .
  5. Tap
    Extend compatibility
     to turn on or off the use of the 2.4 GHz hotspot.
  6. Tap
    Manage devices
     to restrict which devices are allowed to connect.
  7. Tap
    Manage allowed devices
    .
  8. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to enable or disable.
  9. To add, tap
    Add allowed device
    :
    1. Enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then tap
      OK
      .
    2. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary. When finished, tap the
      Back arrow icon
       Back icon.
  10. Tap
    Device limit
     then select an option (e.g., 2, 3, 10, etc.).
  11. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select a timeout option (i.e., 5, 10, 15 minutes, etc.).
