Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy A12 to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Face Recognition
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Face recognition screen, review the info about Face recognition then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed on-screen.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Stay on Lock screen until swipe, etc.).
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
