Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch to get started. This ensures you can make calls and send messages.

Before you begin

The Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch can be set up via Number Share. To do so, the companion smartphone must be activated on the same Verizon account as the Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch.
Before activating your Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch, ensure:
  • the Wear OS by Google app is downloaded via the Google Play™ Store on the companion smartphone.
  • your companion Android™ smartphone has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
  • your eSim activation has been processed.
  • your watch is connected to the included charger and powered on.

Steps

  1. Tap the watch display to begin setup.
  2. Tap the desired language (e.g., English, French, etc.).
  3. Open the
    Wear OS by Google app
     on your Android smartphone then tap
    Start Setup
    .
  4. To continue, review the Terms of service then tap
    Agree
    .
  5. To send diagnostic reports and usage stats to Google, tap
    I agree
     or tap
    No thanks
    .
  6. From the Link with Wear OS by Google screen, tap the name of your Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch (i.e., Carlyle HR).
    If your watch doesn't display, tap
    I don't see my watch
    .
  7. Ensure the Passkey matches what displays on your Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch then tap
    Pair
    .
    1. If you're having trouble pairing, restart both devices (smartphone and watch).
    2. Check your Bluetooth® connection.
    3. Unpair your devices and try again.
  8. To copy a Google account to your watch, tap the desired Google email account to turn on then tap

  9. To confirm, tap
    Copy
    .
  10. From the Stay connected to the Wi-Fi screen, tap
    Connect
     then follow the onscreen prompts to customize your watch.
  11. To complete the setup, tap
    Done
    .
  12. To connect your watch to the Verizon network, do the following:
    1. If necessary, open the
      Wear OS by Google app
       on your smartphone.
    2. From the Connect to Verizon network prompt, tap
      Set up
      .
    3. To confirm, tap
      Set up
      .
    4. From the Almost ready screen, tap
      Close
      .
    5. Restart your watch to connect to the mobile network.
      After the restart, your Fossil Gen 5 LTE Smartwatch connects and setup is complete.
