Stop Running Apps

If an app on your Pixel 5 is freezing, crashing, or acting strangely, manually stopping it can help. This can clear up temporary software issues and causes the app to shut down so you can restart it instead of just sending it to the background.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Apps
    See all apps
    .
  3. Select an app.
  4. Tap
    Force stop
    .
  5. Review the notification then tap
    OK
     to confirm.
