Activate your Pixel 5 to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, make sure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on then select the SIM as the default cellular data number after setup is complete.
If the eSIM profile fails to download, refer to Download and Activate an eSIM after device setup is completed.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Google logo appears. Select your language then tap
    Get started
    .
  2. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  3. To copy apps and data, tap
    Next
     to transfer your content now.
  4. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  5. Select who will be using the device (e.g.,
    I will be using this device
    ).
  6. Review the Google Services and device backup options then tap
    Accept
    .
  7. Review and accept the Verizon Services, limited warranty and additional legal terms.
  8. Set up a set up a screen lock then add fingerprint recognition to secure your device.
  9. Follow the onscreen prompts to set up additional Google features (e.g., Google Assistant, etc.).
  10. Review the navigation gestures and tap

  11. To finish setup, swipe up to go to the Home screen.
