Samsung Galaxy Watch3 - Create and Send a Text Message

Here's how to create and send a text message via the Messages app from your Galaxy Watch3.
  • Currently, the Galaxy Watch3 doesn't support replying to text with an Apple® iPhone®.
  • From your Android™ or Apple® iPhone®, ensure your Galaxy Watch3 software is up to date as the steps below apply to the most recent version.
  1. From the watch screen, press the
    Home button
     to open the apps screen.
    Press the Home button
  2. Tap the
    Messages icon Messages icon
    .
  3. Tap the
    New Message icon Messages icon
     (at the top).
  4. Enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name in the 'Recipient' field then tap
    Next
    .
    As the number or contact is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Use Voice Service to create text:
      1. Tap the
        Voice icon Voice icon
        .
        If necessary, review the Privacy Policy then tap
        Next
        .
      2. If prompted, tap the
        Checkmark icon Checkmark icon
         to allow Watch Input to access the microphone.
      3. Speak your message then tap
        Send
        .
    • Send an Emoji:
      1. Tap the
        Emoji icon Emoji icon
        .
      2. Tap the desired emoji then tap the
        Send icon Send icon
        .
    • Type a Message:
      1. Tap the
        Text icon Text icon
        .
      2. Turn the bezel left or right to change the text input method (e.g., Write text by hand, keypad, numbers, etc.) then enter a message.
