Alcatel Avalon™ - Turn Premium SMS Permissions On / Off

Here's how to change permissions to allow or block sending premium texts from your Avalon.
If you're having issues sending text messages to short codes, view this info to check permission settings.
  • Steps only apply if you've previously used a messaging app to send a text to a premium content provider or short code.
  • Short codes are typically 5 or 6 digit numbers commonly used when participating in contests, making donations, etc.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Apps & notifications

  3. Tap
    Advanced
    .
  4. Tap
    Special access
    .
  5. Tap
    Premium SMS access
    .
  6. Tap the desired app then select one of the following options:
    Apps listed vary and only appear if they've previously been used for premium messaging.
    • Ask
    • Never allow
    • Always allow
