Unused apps take up storage space and slow down your Pixel 4 / 4 XL. Uninstalling apps you don't need can improve performance and reduce clutter.

Before you begin

Apps included with the Android™ operating system may not have an uninstall option. Some of those apps can be disabled; however, doing so may cause related apps to malfunction.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Apps
    See all apps
    .
  3. Locate then select the applicable app.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To uninstall the app:
      1. Tap
        Uninstall
        .
      2. To confirm, review the notification then tap
        OK
        .
    • To uninstall app updates:
      1. Tap the
        3-dot Menu
        .
      2. Tap
        Uninstall updates
        .
      3. To confirm, review the notification then tap
        OK
