Easily switch your Volkswagen in-car Wi-Fi Hotspot on or off to manage who connects to your network, reduce background data usage or quickly disable passenger internet access.

Before you begin

For vehicles equipped with MIB3 Infotainment system or ID.4 vehicles, Wi-Fi settings are only accessible through the Infotainment screen.
  • To access Wi-Fi settings, navigate:
    Menu
    Settings
    Wi-Fi
    Infotainment system as hotspot
    .
  • From Wi-Fi settings, SSID and Passphrase can be updated and Hotspot turned on/off.
Your Volkswagen must be running or have Accessory mode turned on for the Wi-Fi Hotspot to function.
Ensure your vehicle is connected to a Wi-Fi capable device (e.g., phone, tablet, computer).

Steps

  1. Open the myVW app.
  2. Tap the
    Account icon
    .
  3. Tap
    Vehicle Management
    .
  4. Tap the desired vehicle.
  5. Tap
    Wi-Fi Settings
    .
  6. From the 'Hotspot' section, tap the
    On / Off switch
     to turn on.
