moto g7 play - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your moto g7 play.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Advanced
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    , then configure the following as needed:
    • Network name (SSID)
    • Security (e.g., None, WPA2 PSK, etc.)
    • Hotspot password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        OK
        .
    • AP Band ( 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)
    • Client (DHCP) start address
    • Timeout (e.g., Never turn-off, 5 mins, 10 mins, etc.).
  4. Tap
    Manage allowed devices
    .
  5. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to enable or disable.
  6. To add, tap
    Add allowed device
    :
    1. Enter the MAC address and device name then tap
      OK
      .
    2. Repeat steps as necessary. When finished, tap the
      back arrow icon
       Back icon.
  7. Tap
    Device limit
     then select an option (e.g., 1-10).
  8. Tap
    Timeout settings
     then select a preferred option (e.g., Never turn-off, 5 mins, etc).
