Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy S10 / S10+ / S10e to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Steps

  1. Ensure a secure lock screen type has been set up.
  2. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  3. Navigate:
    Biometrics and security
    Face Recognition
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  5. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Face recognition screen, review the info about Face recognition then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed onscreen.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Stay on Lock screen until swipe, etc.).
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
