If you use two phone numbers on your Apple® iPhone®, you can set a specific number to be used as the origination message for text and picture messages.

Before you begin

Before sending a text message to a contact using your secondary mobile number, the existing thread must be deleted.
The steps below are only available when Dual SIM is active and only apply to the following iPhone models:
  • iPhone XS / XS Max and newer models
  • iPhone SE (3rd Gen)

Steps

  1. Open the
    Messages app
    .
  2. Tap the
    Compose icon
    .
  3. Enter your contact's name.
  4. Tap the current mobile number (e.g., Primary).
  5. Tap the mobile number you want to use (e.g., Primary, Secondary, etc.).
