If you use two phone numbers on the same Apple® iPhone® and you frequently communicate with certain contacts using a specific number, you can configure your phone to automatically use that eSIM profile for them.

Before you begin

The steps below apply to the following iPhone models:
  • iPhone XS / XS Max and newer models
  • iPhone SE (3rd Gen)

Steps

  1. Open the
    Phone app
    .
  2. Tap
    Contacts
    .
  3. Tap the preferred contact then tap
    Edit
    .
  4. Tap
    Preferred Line
    .
  5. Tap the applicable number you want to use with that contact.
    To use the line you last communicated with for calls and messages, tap
    Last Used
    .
  6. Tap
    Done
    .
