Adjust Gmail™ sync settings on your Galaxy Tab A (10.5) to stay on top of your email in real time. If preferred, you can also manually update your inbox, calendar, contacts, etc.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Accounts and backup
    Accounts
    .
  3. Select the applicable Gmail address.
  4. Tap
    Sync account
    .
  5. Select the applicable data sync options (e.g., Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail etc.) to turn on or off.
    To perform a manual sync:
    1. Tap the
      Menu icon Menu icon
      .
    2. Tap
      Sync now
