Google Pixel 3 / 3 XL - Add a Virtual Private Network

Here's how to add a virtual private network (VPN) to your Pixel 3 / 3 XL to encrypt your internet traffic and protect your online identity via a secure remote server.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    VPN
    .
  3. Tap the
    Add icon Add icon
    .
  4. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap
    OK
    .
    Refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
  5. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
    If needed, contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  6. From the Type field, tap the
    dropdown menu dropdown menu icon
    then select the VPN type.
  7. Enter the needed info into the applicable fields then tap
    Save
    .
    If applicable, tap
    Show advanced options
     to configure the proxy, which may show different options based on the selected VPN type:
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
