Emergency alerts keep you updated on situations like severe weather, public safety threats, AMBER alerts, etc. Set your Galaxy S9 / S9+ to receive only the alerts you want.

Before you begin

National alerts can't be turned off.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    More connection settings
    Wireless emergency alerts
    .
  3. Tap
    Alert types
     then tap any of the following to turn on or off.
    • Extreme threats
    • Severe threats
    • AMBER alerts
    • Public safety messages
    • State and local tests
    • Emergency alert test messages
  4. From the Alert settings section, configure the following:
    • Emergency alert tone
    • Vibrate
    • Alert reminder
    • Speak alert message
    • Additional language
