Verify Wireless Connection Status

To optimize performance on your Apple Watch® and ensure it's always connecting as expected, it's good to know its current connection method.

Steps

  1. From the Watch face screen, tap the
    Side Button
     to access the Control Center.
  2. Check for the following:
    • Look for the green phone icon to ensure your Apple® iPhone® is connected.
    • If the watch face displays the Disconnected icon or the Red X icon, you don't have a connection.
    • The Wi-Fi icon displays in place of the Phone icon and the Wireless signal icon is highlighted if you are connected to a Wi-Fi network instead of your iPhone.
  3. To verify you have an active cellular connection, swipe up to access the Control Center then check if the wireless signal icon is highlighted in green.
