Activate your Galaxy Note8 to get started. This ensures you can make calls, send messages, and connect to the internet.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Power button
     until the device powers on. Select your language then tap the
    Start icon
    .
  2. Review the Terms and Privacy screen, then tap
    Next
    .
  3. Confirm the correct phone number displays then tap
    Next
    .
  4. To set up your phone using your previous data, select
    Wireless
     or
    Cable and USB connector
    .
  5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  6. Complete the activation steps as prompted then tap
    Next
    .
  7. Sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.
  8. Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services options (e.g., Gemini, Location, etc.).
  9. Set up a screen lock and face recognition or iris or fingerprints to secure your device.
  10. Tap
    Next
     to add additional storage with Verizon Cloud.
  11. Sign in to your Samsung account to access Galaxy-specific features.
  12. Tap
    Done
     to complete setup.
